This is Where it Starts
This is more than just a blog—it’s a sanctuary for connection, reflection, and inspiration. My name is Kristin, and this is my story—a journey through survival, healing, and transformation.
Life hasn’t always been kind. There were moments when the chaos felt overwhelming, almost unbearable. Days when it seemed like the weight of life’s struggles would crush me. Yet, through the fire, I found clarity. Through the storms, I unearthed strength. And on the other side of chaos, I built a life filled with love, purpose, and resilience.
If you’ve ever felt lost in the messiness of life, I want you to know this: you’re not alone.
Drowning in Emotional Turmoil
For years, I was caught in a whirlwind of emotional turmoil. My marriage to someone with a bipolar disorder was a constant test of patience and strength. The ups and downs were as unpredictable as they were exhausting. On top of that, I was raising children who depended on me, even when I felt like I had nothing left to give.
I carried the weight of my own trauma, too—pain that had been buried for years. It was like living in a storm where the rain never stopped. There were nights when I lay awake, questioning whether I had the strength to keep going. The chaos felt all-consuming, and I couldn’t see a way out.
But here’s what I’ve learned: chaos doesn’t define us. It’s a part of our story, but it’s not the whole story.
Breaking Down to Rebuild
At my lowest point, I realized something that changed everything: breaking down isn’t failure. In fact, it’s often the first step toward rebuilding.
I started small. Writing became a way to process my emotions and make sense of the chaos. Crafting, especially beading, gave me a sense of control and purpose when everything else felt uncertain. Each bead I strung was like a small victory—a tiny reminder that I could create something beautiful, even in the mess.
I leaned on the love of those who stood by me, even when I doubted myself. Their support reminded me that I wasn’t alone, even when I felt isolated. Piece by piece, I began to rebuild—not just my life, but myself.
One of the most transformative parts of this journey was finding the love of my life. He saw me for who I truly was—flaws, scars, and all—and loved me anyway. His presence reminded me that even in the aftermath of chaos, love can grow.
Rediscovering Joy in the Chaos
Healing is never a straight path. It’s messy, nonlinear, and often frustrating. There were days when I felt like I was making progress, only to find myself slipping back into old patterns. But I learned to embrace the process, imperfections and all.
One of the most surprising parts of my healing journey was rediscovering joy in small, everyday moments. Beading became more than just a hobby—it was a form of therapy. The act of creating something tangible helped me focus on the present and find peace in the process.
I also found joy in connecting with others who had faced their own chaos. Sharing stories, experiences, and encouragement became a way to heal not just myself, but also those around me.
